In the shop “Folk Art” in the village of Sokolnichye, a wealthy lady is found murdered. She often visited the village, generously donated to the restoration of the bell tower, and was respected. The criminal—a drunkard who was hanging around nearby—is arrested on the spot… Professor Ilya Subbotin arrives in the village to establish the truth. The physics teacher has a strange hobby: he solves crimes. On him is everyone’s hope, because no one will dig deeper—the case is closed. In Sokolnichye, a strange group gathers around Ilya: a poetess with dreadlocks; a sad beauty in fur coats; a cheerful couple busy uploading selfies to the Internet; a tour guide; an odd young man who clearly has something to hide; and a gentleman of well-groomed appearance. Someone among them killed the respectable lady. But who? And why?
This is a story about how life can change, and how happiness sometimes comes very close—and all you have to do is look more closely to notice it. There are people around with whom you can share everything in the world, and they will come to help—even if it seems that no one can help anymore…
