Tony, the main character of this book, is a cold-hearted and stubborn cop who has only a tiny amount of time left before retirement. His beliefs are so set in stone that only a blow from a baseball bat to his temple could change anything—and even that isn’t guaranteed. The hero is impossible to reform, which is why he’s interesting. This is a story about how an arrogant jerk becomes enlightened by the end of the book, lets go of his control, and finally feels what life is. Contains explicit profanity.
