In the second half of the XVII century, life became harder day by day for the buccaneers: Tortuga, once the mainstay of piracy, was nearly deserted; European states with considerable interest in America put an end to long feuds and made peace, no longer issuing letters of marque that had turned pirates into legitimate participants in military actions. From the Gulf of Mexico, desperate sea drifters moved to the islands of the Pacific Ocean. Continuing an uncompromising war with the Spanish, members of the Seaside Brotherhood hatch ominous plans, preparing to make one last big score.
