It depicts the events of the “Leningrad Affair,” the lives of special settlers in the Tumen region, Moscow and St. Petersburg from 1960 to 1970, the lives in the Baltic republics in the 1980s, the 1980 Olympics, scientific conferences of Soviet times, a trip to the German Democratic Republic in 1984, perestroika and the rise of capitalism in Russia, the standoff at the White House in 1993, and also the financial crisis of 1998.
