The murder of businessman Korniets probably didn’t sadden anyone much. Everyone knew his nasty temper and his habit of selling abroad the research of his scientific supervisor. However, the gentleman Varyin, who was shot with the very same weapon as Korniets, has nothing to do with science. The victims are connected only by ownership of shares in the hotel "Golden Fleece." There are five partners in total. Investigators Pavel Kiselev and Konstantin Skvortsov lean toward the most logical version: one of the owners got rid of the other four. But soon another member of the five dies under the wheels of a car—and then several women…
