Priest Vladimir Arkadyevich Chugunov is the author and compiler of books: “The Gospel and Prayer Book for Children,” “The Bible for Children,” “Prayer Book for Children,” “Elder Zosima (Zakharij),” “Little Village,” and the compiler of the church service to the righteous saint Alexy Bortsurmansky.
The main themes of the book are the Church, family, and Russia—within the sphere of interests of Russian boys, first introduced by F.M. Dostoevsky in the novel “The Brothers Karamazov.” The author, being the father of a large family (nine children), fully places himself within this category and believes that Russian boys are inextinguishable, as are the questions that move them. We want it or not, but each generation will solve these questions in its own way—just as our generation too will. And this is very important: as a testimony of living experience in the work of public service, in the task of raising children, in terms of personal salvation, and in terms of our participation in the building of Russia’s statehood. The book is intended for a wide circle of readers—for all who seek salvation and love Russia. 3rd edition, revised.
