We present Alexander Pushkin’s famous poem-tale in the format of a musical audio performance. “Under Lukomorye there is a green oak tree; // Golden chain on the oak tree hangs…” Who doesn’t remember these crisp lines with which Pushkin’s masterpiece begins! “Ruslan and Ludmila” is the first of the completed poems of our national genius—a classic of both Russian and world literature. Its plot was inspired by ancient Russian bylinas and tales. The hero Ruslan sets out to search for his fiancée, kidnapped by the sorcerer Chernomor, passes through many trials, and in the end, after defeating the villain, saves Ludmila. In the proposed audio performance, there are no deviations from Pushkin’s text—the poem is reproduced in full and accurately. Magical fairy-tale magic is given enchanting sound through the voices of the performers and carefully selected musical accompaniment. Listen and enjoy!
