Rubedo

Elena Yershova is a Russian writer, author of mystical works in the horror genre. She became known thanks to the trilogy “Legends of the Twilight Age.” The first two books of the series won prizes in literary contests. The writer’s novel “Ihtis,” already familiar to our listeners, also took a prize—at the “Myth.Today” contest organized by the Exmo publishing house—and made it into the shortlist of the “Electronic Letter” award run by the LitRes portal.

The author’s success is due in no small part to the fact that, having a teaching education and experience in psychological work with socially dangerous families and difficult teenagers, she actively uses the entire stock of her knowledge in her books, where heroes find themselves in complex situations.

The novel “Rubedo,” presented in our audio format, took first place in the literary contest “The Aroma of Magic,” held by the Author.Today literary portal. Heinrich is a crown prince, and his fate is to sacrifice himself for the good of the Empire. A fire is sealed inside the hero’s body—it gradually burns out its owner—so Heinrich’s life is full of torment and pain. Margarita is a dowager baroness with an extremely bad reputation, the sister of a rebel. What links these two? Much, including feelings. But they have no right to surrender to them and find happiness, because they are not full owners of their own fate.
