This book is about figures from various public forces who operated on Russia’s political stage: three prime ministers—Witte, Stolypin, and Lvov; leaders of the bourgeois parties—Milyukov and Guchkov; the millionaire Ryabushinsky; and representatives of revolutionary democracy—Plekhanov, Martov, Chernov, and Spiridonova—the main characters of the book. Their life paths are little known to a wide readership.
The book is written using a broad range of sources, including archival materials, and is addressed to everyone interested in the history of our Motherland.
