Rosmersholm

In the old manor of Rosmersholm, over which hangs a legend of ghostly white horses, the former pastor Johannes Rosmer and Rebecca West, who lives with him, are trying to build a new world founded on freedom and spiritual nobility. But the shadow of the past—his wife’s inexplicable suicide—will not let them rest, and their clash with political intrigues, family secrets, and an unyielding conservative morality drives the heroes to the final, decisive line.
