Anatoly Naumovich Rybakov is a writer, a laureate of the Stalin Prize (second degree) and the State Prize of the RSFSR named after the Vasilyev brothers. He lived a long, eventful life, which found its reflection in the writer’s autobiographical novel with the succinct title “A Novel-Memoir.” In addition to the biography of Anatoly Naumovich Rybakov, the novel portrays key moments in the country’s history—from the October Revolution to the Great Patriotic War—and the author’s perspective on the activities of politicians and fellow writers. Part of the novel is devoted to the history of the creation of the trilogy “Children of the Arbat.” “A Novel-Memoir” became Anatoly Rybakov’s last work, written literally only a few months before the writer’s death.
