A radio play from the archive of the USSR State Radio and Television Fund, based on the eponymous play-script by the famous Romanian writer, journalist, playwright, and screenwriter Ioan Grigorescu (1930—2011). The main character of the play is a former prisoner A-1013 from a Nazi concentration camp, and now a successful professional boxer. In one of his bouts, his opponent turns out to be an old “acquaintance” — an SS man Gebauer, who has been hiding from justice. Hatred for this pathological killer gives the fight unprecedented ferocity… In 1983, director Sergiu Nicolaescu adapted the play into the eponymous feature film “Ring / Ringul,” with Marin Moraru and Sergiu Nicolaescu in the leading roles!
