Based on real events that took place in 17th-century Amsterdam and in Boston in the 1990s.
A sinister fate fell upon the great painter Rembrandt van Rijn, as if as punishment for his pride. Contempt of his contemporaries, bankruptcy, and poverty… It seemed as though even in death he couldn’t find peace, having outlived both his beloved wife and his only son.
