I silently stare at his face and try to collect myself. Is this really happening for real?!
Victor quickly runs up to me and tries to hug me, but I push the man away and rush for the exit.
“Lenochka, wait! Let me explain everything!”
He manages to catch me and grabs my hand.
“So this is how you work in the evenings? Fishing, too—probably in her pond?!” I shout in hysteria.
“Stop, you misunderstood everything…” he barely manages to say—while I ask him the next question:

That very blonde woman comes up to us—the one my husband was kissing three minutes ago.
“Wait, is that your wife?” she realizes.
“It finally clicked!” I snort back and slap my ex-husband across the cheek.
Victor isn’t even trying to hold me anymore. I take one last look—and run in the opposite direction.
The man stays standing there with his lover, never learning the most important thing. About our baby—the one I’m carrying under my heart.
