The writer and literary scholar Dmitry Bykov reads two of the most famous works, perhaps, by Prince Ilia Grigorievich Chavchavadze—the Georgian poet, publicist, and statesman, a nationalist who fought for Georgia’s national independence. He was one of the most prominent public figures of Georgia in the early 20th century; in today’s Georgian state, he is considered the “father of the fatherland.” In 1987, he was canonized by the Georgian Orthodox Church. Traditionally, the audio book ends with a lecture by Dmitry Bykov.
