Jeeves is a well-read, highly erudite man: an expert in poetry and psychology. He’s a butler in the best traditional sense of the reserved, tactful English servant. He invariably rescues Bertie and his friends from trouble.

Bertie often calls Jeeves “a genius” and is delighted by the power of his mind, his resourcefulness, and his knowledge across different fields.
