Stories from the Right Shoe

There is a subject writers don’t like to talk about. Namely—where do ideas and plots even come from? Usually, they either pretend that they just make everything up themselves, or they start hinting at some inspiration coming from above.

But the truth is that no writer writes anything entirely by themselves. Different beings work here instead. For example, some of the books were dictated to me by a terrifying character in a yellow mask; some were “purrred” to me by a kitten with a golden chain around its neck. And the stories included in this collection were written by a small green goblin living in my right boot. He often comes up with all sorts of things—and I carefully listen and write it down. A goblin also lives in my left boot—but I don’t listen to him. He makes up such nonsense…
