In recent years she was working on a new novel—it remained unfinished.

Shcherbakova’s prose has always attracted filmmakers. Based on her works, feature films were made: “Two and One” (the story “Uncle Khlor and Koryakin”), “The Boy and the Girl” (the eponymous novella), and others.
