A Paradise Corner for Death

A married couple, detectives Marina and Maxim Sokolov, didn’t fly to the hotel “Palazzo del Mare” to rest. They are accompanying journalist and socialite Anna Romanova to prevent her murder. She told the detectives a couple of days before the flight that the billionaire Ivannikov had ordered her death—after her informant was killed. Two identifying features of the hired killer are known: he is a champion in one of the water sports and has a certain oddity—i.e., a phobia. But the first attempt didn’t happen at sea.
