Paradise

A chronicle of growing up and first love, a tragic story of the destruction of African traditions.

At thirteen, Yusuf suddenly left home. His father sold him into slavery to pay off debts.

In the shop of his newly-made master, surrounded by a forbidden paradise garden, the boy begins to learn the paths of the world that will take him across all of Africa. Traveling with a trading caravan, Yusuf will face his own fears, superstitions, primordial cruelty, torments of love and a choice that changes life.
