In a small fishing village squeezed between waves of cold, unfriendly sea, Lazăr Chantо indulges in a contemplative and useless life. A worshipper of Schopenhauer, he views life as a delayed death sentence. As the tides keep washing away the beach, the young man sinks deeper into depression and sees no point in his continued existence. Adopted by Lazăr’s family, Polina Kényu tries to change the mood of those around her by setting the despotic rule of death against a renewed curiosity for life.
