An unpredictably distant future. Thanks to the discovery of access to the Noosphere—an information field of the cosmos—humanity has burst through to the far-off stars. By suppressing or exterminating other alien races, people firmly established themselves in the Galaxy, reaching out to countless worlds of space and seizing the entire inhabited Universe.
Over time, the very process of knowing turned into a simple production cycle. The researchers of the Noosphere gained economic hegemony, swallowing up any political institutions.
Eventually, the increase in tensions between psionic conglomerates led once the greatest civilization into discord and total regression. Now, space ships are relics of a distant antiquity, and their captains are eternal wanderers and outcasts on any of the worlds.
