Description
“The Cruise of the Snark” (Eng. The Cruise of the Snark) is Jack London’s autobiographical illustrated novella, first published in 1911. It describes his journey through the southern part of the Pacific Ocean aboard the ketch “Snark.” During the voyage, London is accompanied by his wife Charmian and a small crew. London describes numerous difficulties in building the “Snark,” his training in maritime navigation, gaining experience in healing away from civilization, and other details of this adventure. He visits exotic places, including Hawaii and the Solomon Islands, and the photographs he took give insight into these remote corners of the Pacific at the beginning of the twentieth century.
