The biographical diptych “Pushkin” is the central work in the legacy of the famous prose writer of the late 19th and early 20th century, Vasily Petrovich Avenarius.
Consisting of two independent works—“The Adolescent Years of Pushkin” (1885) and “The Youth Years of Pushkin” (1887)—the diptych is nevertheless a single narrative in which the youth of the first of Russia’s poets is vividly and in detail described.
