Tari the Bird is a tense, wonderfully written psychological thriller in which a young heroine tells about her childhood spent in isolation in an old estate’s сторожка (guard’s lodge) in Shrow, with only her uncommunicative mother for company. At seventeen, Lisa has never ridden a bus or a train, has never played with peers. She barely knows the world her mother Eve calls the ruin. But Lisa has to leave the lodge because Eve killed a man—and he is not her first victim.
