Zhenya unexpectedly becomes the heir of a village cottage and heads to Nizhniye Lozhkari. The trip was supposed to be a simple formality, but from the very first minutes everything turns strange: at the station, no one is waiting for her, the notary has disappeared somewhere, and mobile service seems to have vanished along with the possibility of calling for help.
What are the local residents not telling her? Why does one of them look at Zhenya as if he recognizes her, and why can she herself not turn her gaze away?
And the most troubling question: how did it happen that today is Thursday again, if Thursday was already yesterday?
***
- a short novella,
- everything turns out not to be what it seemed at first,
- and even that — not the whole truth,
- the author doesn’t mix up the characters’ names, and if it seems otherwise — then that’s how it was intended.
