For the first time in Russian, a unique historical document is published—the interrogation protocols of Adolf Eichmann, one of the main Nazi criminals and head of the “Jewish Department” of the Gestapo. After Germany’s defeat in World War II, the creator of the mechanism of the “final solution to the Jewish question” hid in Argentina, but was found by Israeli special services and brought to trial. During the many months of the trial, one question kept arising: was this modest, desk-bound official, an exemplary father and loving son, really responsible for the deaths of millions? The trial proceeded according to law. In December 1961, Eichmann was sentenced to death.
