Description
The Cylinder is a colossal structure rising many miles above the surface of an unknown Earth in a distant future. Exxeter gives up his bleak “nine-to-five” job on the even tiers of the megacity to be where life truly simmers—on the “vertical.” Here, freelancers, belligerent tribes, and other nomads live along the ropes and trampolines at the building’s outer edge.
Exxeter dreams of becoming famous as a graphic designer and creating battle emblems for warring tribes. And just like any other citizen, a microchip in his brain is connected to a complex computer system that manages the economy.
But when Exxeter receives a truly audacious commission—to create completely new “death icons” for one of the strongest tribes—he gets pulled into a dangerous journey that will take him to the Dark Side of the Cylinder… and far beyond it.
