The Missing Sister

Burma. The 1930s. An aspiring singer, Bell Hatton, arrives from England to Rangoon, where she gets a job of her dreams in a vaudeville show at an upscale hotel. It seems like a cloudless future lies ahead—but life has an unpleasant surprise in store for the girl. In her late parents’ belongings, she finds a newspaper clipping from 25 years ago: an article about the disappearance of their newborn daughter, Elvira. Desperately trying to find out the fate of her sister—about whose existence Bell didn’t even know—she begins asking questions, but receives contradictory information and open threats in return. Help comes to Bell from an American journalist named Oliver. Can she trust the sudden feeling that flares up between her and Oliver? What really happened to Elvira? And does Bell have a chance to find her missing sister?
