Progress never stands still. Each day we’re amazed to discover new achievements, and it seems there’s nothing more surprising that could be invented. But human imagination has no limits, and the science-fiction genre will always be relevant. This year, LitRes together with the St. Petersburg scientific and technical center "ZASLON" held the second season of the contest "Project of Special Significance. Version 20.23".

Participants were asked to predict the future based on modern engineering technologies and developments, and to fantasize about how the world might move to a new stage of development. The contest was held not only among authors, but also among readers. The judging panel included well-known science-fiction writers Sergey Lukyanenko, Andrey Vasilyev, Vadim Panov, Maks Glebov, as well as popular announcers and dubbing actors Alexander Sharonov, Inga Brik, Marina Lisovets, and others. This time, fans of science fiction are in for a surprise. The collection includes not only the finalists’ stories, but also a bonus work by a jury member Andrey Vasilyev, as well as a story written by a neural network.
