In a street fight, a student of a medical institute, Mikhail Zverev, dies, and at night his corpse gets up and leaves the morgue. The prosecutor’s investigator managed to notify a journalist so that, using the commotion in the press, he could hand the case over to the city prosecutor’s office—however, without the body, there is no case. Mikhail Zverev comes to his senses on the Yauza riverbank in the Babushkinsky area. FSB General Kovalev arrives at the prosecutor’s investigator and takes the case away, stating that the investigator lacks clearance for the investigation… and the investigator learns that the journalist to whom he leaked information about the fight and the murder was run over by a car near the morgue from which Zverev’s corpse had fled…
