Even the shadows cast by the peaks and towers with meteorological instruments were dark pink in color, and only the dense black smoke rising over one of the summits sharply contrasted with the overall palette. Arnold, however, wasn’t bothered by the local beauty—he was hurrying to the base after an endlessly long workday, anticipating a tasty dinner and rest.
