“About Dragons and People” is a collection of stories, each of which interprets winged creatures in its own way: somewhere they are big, scary monsters, somewhere—reasonable, intelligent beings, and sometimes—nothing more than a product of human imagination. But if you look more closely, the dragons in the author’s view are all of them together—and even more. Despite the obviously fairy-tale origin, dragons are people. In their images, our fears, dreams, and piercing qualities show through: the fiery nature of character, loyalty, single-mindedness, or fire-breathing hatred. These stories are like a mirror reflecting human rise and fall, and as each one develops, bewilderment and laughter quickly turn into fear, while the fairy-tale scenery increasingly resembles the painfully familiar reality.
— The audio version of the collection was recorded with the participation of a star-studded cast of actors: Aleksei Kortnev, Valdis Pelsh, Vasily Solovyov-Sedoy (Junior), and Aleksei Bagdasarov. — — —
