Princesses from the Neighboring Dump

Eight-year-old Varya never stops believing in miracles, even though the view from the window of her hospital room is only an old five-story building. Her father decides to show his daughter that magic is not somewhere far away: his tales about princesses who can appear right among scattered toys and muted tablets remind her of what matters most—that miracles live wherever people know how to notice them.

Varya is eight, and she stubbornly searches for a fairy tale all around: she looks for Thumbelinas in the flowers in the flowerbed, and keeps rereading stories about princesses… But the illness changes everything. Now, instead of flowerbeds, there is a hospital window and a dull five-story building. Can real magic happen in such everyday life? “No way!” Varya decides and grows sad. Besides, her mother has gone on a business trip…

Her father, however, is not ready to accept the idea that miracles do not exist. He tells his daughter stories in which princesses turn out to be very close—by the TV, among the toys, and in the world of modern gadgets. Right away, they get to work and, in their own magical way, help the heroes change their lives. What will come of it? We’ll find out soon.
