“The Adventures of Liderik” is a historical-adventure novel by the French writer Alexandre Dumas, published in 1842 and based on legends of Northern France and the German epic.
The novel is set in the years 628–640 in the Frankish kingdom. The ruler of Dijon dies in the Flemish forest; his wife manages to hide a small son from the enemies—Liderik. The child is raised and fed by a doe and brought up by a hermit.
