The Crime at Black Dudley

Margery Louise Allingham—an English writer of the “Golden Age of English Literature,” recognized as the “Queen of Detective Fiction” alongside Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayers, and Ngaio Marsh. Allingham’s best-known works are the novels about the gentleman sleuth Albert Campion. In the novel “The Crime at Black Dudley,” Albert Campion must unravel a complicated case. When George Ebbershow is invited to a weekend at Black Dudley, he sees it as a chance to propose to Meggy Olyphant. But a harmless pastime for the guests unexpectedly turns into a deadly game, and George’s search for the culprit becomes more important than his future engagement.
