She came to me when there was nothing left.
No home. No husband. No right to be near her own son.
I didn’t offer her love. I offered a deal. Cold. Cynical. Unfair.
It was easier that way. No feelings. No obligations. No risk.
I’ll help you get the child back. And you’ll be with me—in my bed.
No feelings. No questions. No right to refuse.
She agreed. Out of desperation.
And I was sure I could handle it. Keep everything under control.
But with each day it became harder to play along and hide the truth.
I made a deal to keep her close. She accepted, not seeing any other way.
But now I don’t need a deal. I need her.
