"Husband of a Battle Mage" and “The Husband of a Full-Time Necromancer” are two short stories from the cycle under one cover.
1. I hooked my own on a swamp. Or did he hook me? Well, how did he hook me? He brought me pies and I couldn’t resist. What could possibly be in common between an experienced battle mage and the son of an innkeeper whose main talent is baking pies? Nothing in common, it seems. I don’t know how it happened. I only know that meeting him turned my whole life upside down.
2. I met mine in a morgue. Of course, where else would I go—I don’t go anywhere else. He came for identification… but it turned out they identified him. And somehow everything started spinning. He’s a talented musician—first violin, almost famous. Besides music, there’s nothing else in his life. I’m a full-time necromancer at a police station. Not a great one, honestly—a mid-level necromancer. But in my life there’s also nothing but magic. I’ve long given up on my personal life. But then… fate arranged otherwise.
