The Devourers

Hungry Ones… The Anomalous Zone… Stalkers… Hundreds of seekers of fate, prosperity, or adventure penetrate its territory. Dozens die at once. Only a few will ever manage to reach the Middle Zone. A handful will go further. Almost no one will come out of the Deep Zone, and none of those who do will tell an outsider how they returned back. Despite all available modern technologies, equipment, weaponry, training, and desire, part of the stalkers will never cross a certain line—one that they know for sure means death awaits them. The Zone, its mutants, and its anomalies devour both the body and the mind. But still, the one who returns—the one who was able or compelled to step over the line—already feels its presence, and everything he can tell, he will only tell someone ready to meet it.
