A Guide to Raising Angels

The first and most important thing in raising angels is choosing the right place. Take Warsaw’s Chomichyovka, for example. Between Konrad Street and the overgrown airfield, you can spot remnants of garden plots. There stand crooked little houses; next to them grow flowers with tomatoes. Among flowers and tomatoes, old ladies and old men bustle about. If one of them were to stop clinging to the watering can and look up into the sky, they would without a doubt see winged figures circling high above. But gardeners are usually busy with what’s down there. They’re busy with what’s up there. If they do look at something above the tops of the trees, it’s only to figure out whether rain is going to start. And only if their eyesight allows. Some gardeners are, of course, curious—but most have a very pleasant trait: they don’t meddle in other people’s affairs.
