The magnificent ocean liner “Poseidon” makes a month-long cruise for Christmas and is already on its way back home. By an absurd accident, the captain makes an unforgivable mistake: the ship overturns upside down and begins to sink slowly. The disaster zone is the Azores.
Most passengers and crew perish. Only 14 passengers manage to survive.
They are trapped in a restaurant. For them, the whole world has flipped “upside down.” On the way to rescue they face countless obstacles in the form of overturned staircases, locked doors, and other problems. But the worst thing isn’t even that. Inside the crew—one that, only by banding together, could win a battle with the elements—there is a split forming. People start acting irrationally: insults, threats, loud revelations, and… ridiculous deaths. And against the backdrop of this dramatic situation, there is an astonishing story of true love, which may be destined to last only a few hours…
