Tsukiko lives a very secluded life, believing she is not meant for love. She often spends her evenings at a bar, where one day she meets her former teacher. He also lives alone, collecting strange items in his apartment.
Tsukiko and the teacher make an unspoken agreement to divide their solitude. They start spending time together, sharing the same hobbies, and it becomes difficult for them to be apart. However, from time to time they try to escape this closeness—each in their own memories: the teacher about his former wife, and Tsukiko about her former classmate.
As they grow closer, their lives begin to be marked by gentle changes typical of the change of seasons: from warm drinks to sakura blooming…
This is a touching, funny, and engaging story about modern Japan and old-fashioned romance.
