Vladimir Arkhipov lived calmly in his luxurious bachelor “flat” with a faithful mastiff, and had no intention of changing anything in his life. Everything happened against his will. Lizaveta, the odd neighbor, died and left him an apartment—and her foster “little girl.” As it turned out, the “little orphan” was actually an adult woman, Masha, who had shaken the imagination of lonely Arkhipov.
But why didn’t the neighbor leave the apartment to her? Perhaps because people from the sect “The Path to Joy” had designs on it—and they began besieging Masha right after Lizaveta’s death. Then, a half-brother from the provinces dropped on Masha’s doorstep, and after that they both disappeared.
Worried by their disappearance and by thoughts about the neighbor’s strange death, Arkhipov visits the “bad apartment” and finds there the corpse of a sect lawyer.
How did he get here? Who killed him? Could it be… Masha?
