A young aristocratic woman marries a gifted violinist, but soon becomes disappointed with her husband. The second story in the book tells about a scandal in a British manor. Twenty-three-year-old Jeepe is an attractive young lady fond of hunting foxes, horse racing, and music. After meeting virtuoso violinist Fiorsen, she falls in love with his talent and, despite her father’s disapproval, marries him.
However, soon Jeepe realizes that admiration for art and love for its creator are different things. The edition also includes the novel "The Manor," describing the life of British aristocracy in the late 19th century. The family heir is drawn to gambling and begins an affair with a married woman, which makes the head of the family consider cutting him off from his inheritance. Still, according to local laws, the manor must remain with the firstborn. Meanwhile, the mother seeks ways to preserve the family’s honor.
