The Commander

In the novella, the image of the Hero of the Soviet Union, General of the Army Ivan Efimovich Petrov, is broadly and on a large scale revealed—a talented commander, richly endowed in many ways, a charming and fearless person. During the Great Patriotic War I.E. Petrov commanded armies and fronts; he was one of the leaders of the combat operations of our troops during the defense of Odessa and Sevastopol, the liberation of Kerch and Novorossiysk. The author of the book—writer, Hero of the Soviet Union Vladimir Karpov—uses his personal impressions from meetings with this remarkable man.
