The Veil

Vasilisa’s father has trouble at work. And they—together with the whole family—are sent to Pokryshkino, a sovkhoz settlement in the Nizhny Novgorod region. On the surface everything is wonderful: rich houses, well-kept streets, interesting people. Only with the coming of darkness all doors and windows are tightly shut, and the streets go empty.

And only rare passersby can accidentally see a moon rabbit granting wishes. For some, meeting the rabbit is a long-awaited event; others are convinced it’s a monster that gives what you want—but takes your soul in return.
