“Olympian Radin” is a poem story by the talented Russian poet, translator, and literary critic Apollon Grigoriev (1822–1864).*** Olympian Radin is a proud, daring, straightforward man—sharp with words. His wife is a beautiful and wealthy woman whom half of Moscow is in love with, but she is faithful to her husband. However, one day, while visiting a certain family, Olympian falls in love with their daughter… Other well-known works by Apollon Grigoriev include “My Literary and Moral Wanderings,” “Pages from the Manuscript of a Wandering Sophist,” “Poems,” “Visions,” “Poems,” “The Deathbed Confession,” “The First Chapter from the Novel ‘The Spun-Out One,’” and “Venezia la bella.” Although Apollon Grigoriev was not especially popular among readers, his work was highly valued by Dostoevsky. In addition, Grigoriev translated into Russian works by Byron, Molière, Shakespeare, and other geniuses of world literature.
