An audiobook released by the «MediaBook» studio is written by the famous Russian author Nikolay Alexandrovich Leykin. It’s a humorous story about the trip of the Ivanov spouses—Nikolay Ivanovich and Glafira Semyonovna—to Biarritz and Madrid. Read by Mikhail Roslyakov, a well-known theater and film actor.
In autumn, the weather was warm and clear, but the nights were cool. Chestnuts and white acacias along the boulevards of Paris had long turned yellow, covering the sidewalks with yellow leaves. It was the end of September, by the new style. In the morning, at nine o’clock, the coach of the «Urbain» company, driven by a coachman wearing a white lacquered hat, set off from Rue Richelieu and slowly made its way to the Orléans station, the farthest rail terminal from the center of Paris. Next to the coachman was a large trunk covered with assorted colorful labels from different cities and hotels. Inside the carriage, among luggage and blankets, sat the Russian tourists, the Ivanov couple. Nikolay Ivanovich smoked, blowing out clouds of smoke, to which Glafira Semyonovna responded with irritation, reproaching her husband.
