Under the River

Kira’s stepfather came from a flooded village—the place where a reservoir appeared. His only topic of conversation with his daughter was memories of the home they left behind and the graves of ancestors that were submerged under water. Kira leaves home, moving from city to city, but nowhere does she feel at home. After her stepfather’s death, she returns to help her sister clear out his things and discovers a terrible secret. Now Kira is trying to figure out what to do with this knowledge—and whether the same darkness lives within her, as in her father.
