Writer and courageous man Georgy Mikhailovich Bryansky devoted his story to fellow Chekists.
The book is written in the form of a diary by Andrey Trapeznikov and notes by Dmitry Bragin—two friends who worked in the organs of state security side by side for more than a decade.
The first part covers events from December 1933 to February 1940. It shows the struggle of our Chekists against German intelligence networks on the eve of Nazi Germany’s attack on the USSR.
The second part describes the most dangerous work of our intelligence officers in territories temporarily occupied by the Germans—brave battles by Soviet patriots against the fascists.
